I am a Living Miracle
Hey everybody, most of you have never met me, but my name is Jayden John Schram and I am a living testimony. My parents are John and Misty Schram, and this is my story.
It all started when my parents knew they were going to have me. My mom and dad wanted to have a name with meaning so that was how I got the name Jayden, which means “Jehovah has heard”. It was fitting since my dad had prayed for his first born to be a son since he was about 12 yearas old.
Anyway, let’s skip forward to the beginning of my birth and how I was raised from the dead like Jesus.
When it was time for me to make my start in life I was dealt a bad set of cards. “The dead mans hand”, one might say. The cord was wrapped around my neck twice so I was strangled to death. when I arrived I had no heartbeat or anything. About 8 nurses came to my rescue and started CPR. My mom and dad were worried, but they have served God for quite sometime. Even though they were worried, my dad felt the Holy Spirit remind him about Romans 4:17 about how God quickens the dead and call things not as though they were. So he reached his hand in my direction and said I would live and not die, in Jesus name. Then he did the best he could to comfort my mom. It had been almost ten minutes and they were about to give up on me when I was resurrected from the dead, and my heart started to beat again. In the process a rib had been separated and a lunch punctured. then, due to the lack of oxygen my brain went into shock and I had some seizure like symptoms. I had a rough start, but I am a fighter, just like my old man, and I have his determination as well.
I had to be sent to a children’s hospital in Cincinnati and my dad followed me over there. The doctor told my dad that there was a very good chance that I had sustained brain damage and he needed to prepare himself for the worst. Dad told the doctor to do his best and let God take care of the rest. The doctor told Dad he did not think he was properly mentally preparing himself for the worst and dad told him that he respected his opinion but all the rest and the doctor would do would prove that I was perfect until he had conclusive evidence to support different. My mom and dad have a lot of faith in God. Also there were many other family members and friends praying for me as well so thanks to all. I had to be put on a cooling blanket for 72 hours, having a feeding tube inserted, and be put on a ventilator.
My dad stayed the night with me. Thanks dad, and I know mom would have been there if she could have. By the next morning I had enough of the ventilator so I pulled it out. They put me on supplemental oxygen for a couple more days, but no more ventilator. They started the heart, kidney, and liver tests but all the tests were complete and they said I was perfect, just like my dad told them. When I first arrived at the hospital they said I would be there for 2-3 weeks, but I was out in 9 days, just like daddy said. The last thing I had to do was overcome full feedings so I would not need the feeding tube any longer and I did that in 2 days. Everybody was so proud. They wanted me to stay a couple extra days in the hospital but there was no reason, and if you know my dad, he can be direct, professional, but direct, and he made sure that I was out on Good Friday and able to see all our friends and family for Easter.
I got to spend the rest of my time with my family before dad had to go back to war and defend America. He has a platoon, “The Punishers” who needed him. Just like I need him. It was a good time, just not long enough. I am Jayden Schram and I am a living miracle.
